2017 Recap

Writer's picture: MartinMartin

2017 was a huge year for everyone involved in the Mick Weill Racing team. It was the first year that we put a time on the board with the car, the first year we all managed to be there at the same time and finally, It was the year the car was named:

'GOOD TIMES, BAD TIMES '

The car was born.

Ok, i never said it was a quick time, but it was a time none the less.

As more and more passes were made the kinks in the system were worked out and the Driver and Car became more comfortable going down the track. with growing confidence the times began to fall and the speeds rise. With every new meeting a new personal best time was set with it finally being set at 12.3 seconds for the 2017 season.

After the final meeting of the season was completed Mick decided that he needed more. The engine was removed from the chassis (following all the latest safety precautions...) and was taken back to the base of operations. Here it was stripped down to the bare minimum and a large order was placed for all kinds of parts.

  • High compression pistons

  • Aluminium Heads

  • Cam shaft

  • Head studs

  • Fuel tank

After sitting in the corner only being used as a Christmas decoration the Fuel injection system could soon see that it would be pride of place on top of the engine and pushing even harder to bring those times down.

Keep checking back here for more on how the rebuild goes.

That's it for 2017

See you in 2018 for another successful MICK WEILL RACING season
